The display of personal information is something very important that all users who are registered on any Internet page face. Therefore, thanks to a Spanish citizen who presented a series of problems related to his name and personal information, Google and other search engines such as Yahoo, decided to place this GDPR regulation so that the user would have more control over their personal information on the internet.

Likewise, companies were personally involved in having to adapt these measures which, failure to comply with any of them, could lead to fines and sanctions, therefore, the RGDP has been an important achievement to be implemented.

Thanks to the approval of this new regulation in April 2016 by the EU, all citizens with legal personality who are involved with the personal data of clients and employees must apply for said GDPR regulation.

Likewise, this regulation affects the marketing and web analytics area of companies, including changes and regulations in relation to cookies, data processing, analysis and retention, forcing a large number of companies to alter their privacy policies.

Therefore, consent without having read the conditions policy is the total responsibility of the person.

However, if a person of Venezuelan nationality travels to Spain and browses a Spanish website, they must protect their personal data.

  • Access to your data: with this GDPR, all companies must provide the user with access to their personal data, likewise, they can demand the complete deletion of all their personal data existing on the internet.

  • Data protection officer: not all companies need a representative, however, in the case of handling sensitive data about a user, the existence of this figure is essential.

  • Sanctions: this is one of the biggest problems for companies, which is why they have been involved in fully informing themselves about everything that has to do with the GDPR regulations. These sanctions for non-compliance with any of the regulations of this regulation consist of fines between 20 million euros.

  • Risk analysis: this analysis consists of carrying out a study in which the unwanted situations that could be probable are analyzed, to detect their risk and avoid any type of invasive technology. If the necessary measures are not taken, the chances of risk increase, as well as the consequences that both companies and users could suffer.
